The Difference Between Interest and Commitment

At some point, every man reaches a crossroads.
One road is paved with good intentions, empty promises, and “I’ll start tomorrow” mantras. The other road? It's tougher, grittier, and demands something most people aren’t willing to give — total commitment.
I know that road well. I spent years interested in getting in shape. Interested in being a better father. Interested in starting a brand that stood for something real. But the truth is — interest didn’t change my life. Commitment did.
Interested people say, “I’ll try. ”Committed people say, “I will.”
When you're committed, the excuses stop. You don’t wait until Monday, until after the vacation, or until your schedule frees up. You start. You show up. You follow through, no matter what.
That’s what 75 Hard taught me — and that’s what True Grit Lifestyle represents.
It’s not about being perfect. It’s about choosing discomfort over comfort. Choosing sweat over ease. Choosing presence with your kids over scrolling through your phone. Choosing the hard path — on purpose — because that’s where the transformation lives.
Here’s the brutal truth: If you only do what’s easy, your life will be hard. But if you do what’s hard, your life will be easy.
Every day, you cast a vote for the kind of man you’re becoming. Not with your words — but with your habits, your discipline, your follow-through.
True Grit Lifestyle is a call to men who are done settling. Done making excuses. Done just being interested.
You want to live with purpose? Then burn the boats. There is no retreat. There is only forward.
So ask yourself:
Are you committed to your health — or just interested in losing weight?
Are you committed to leading your family — or just hoping they’ll figure it out?
Are you committed to showing up as a man of grit — or just wearing the shirt?
Only you can answer that.
But when you're ready to stop negotiating with yourself and start leading from the front — we’ll be here.
Because at True Grit Lifestyle, we don’t just wear the brand. We live it.
